Remember scrambling to find your friend when a “buddy check” was called at the beach? It’s camp memories like that and the life-changing experiences at the chapel that I cherish.
Consider this your “buddy check.” We want to reconnect with you and see that you’re safe. In 2007 we did our first Buddy Check event to celebrate 60 years of God’s faithful ministry at Trout. It was a chance to celebrate the past and get excited about the future. This year, we’re doing another important buddy check as we complete the Lodge at Timber Ridge.
On Saturday, July 23, 2011 we’re inviting Trout Lake buddies of all ages to join us for lunch in the Lodge at Timber Ridge. Although the building is not yet complete, you’ll be among the first ever to share a meal in the new dining hall. We’ll hear from current campers and leaders, learn where Trout is headed and how you can be involved in God’s ministry at Trout.
It’s going to be an amazing day and we hope you’ll be there with us (register now).
What to Expect
The day begins at 10 a.m. with a chance to do a “buddy check” with your generation of Trout Lake campers.
Then we’ll start the formal program:
- Testimonies from campers and staff members
- Where Trout is going in the next three to five years.
- How you can get involved through volunteering and investing in God’s ministry at Trout Lake Camps.
It’s a chance to do a buddy check with Trout.
Then we’ll share the first ever meal served at the Lodge, the nearly finished and desperately needed new dining hall at Timber Ridge.
After lunch you can tour the grounds and take part in new and classic camp activities at your leisure. The beach, boat docks, zip lines, pony rides and more will be available. The program will finish at 3:30 p.m. with dessert and family worship in the chapel at the Point. Childcare will be available for infants through kindergarten (register now).
