COVID-19 Update Week #9 (August 8-14) 2.0
As in the previous (#9.0) update - at the start of the week we had a cabin leader test positive for COVID. Last night we had a second cabin leader that is not feeling well but his test was negative. Today, due to his not feeling well, we are double checking that test by sending him to the clinic. Once we find out his test results we will follow our current COVID guidelines for that cabin.
Based on this unknown, we have asked our cabin leaders and staff to start to wear masks indoors as a precaution. We have not changed our mask policy for campers. They can still choose to or not to wear masks. Once we get confirmation of a negative or positive test, we may again choose to change our mask policy for our staff.
Again, this week, we currently have only one staff member and no campers that have tested positive for COVID. In that case, his campers were sent home according to close contact policies.
We have been in constant contact with the Crow Wing County Department of Health in evaluating our current COVID protocols.
As you know, this summer we are still using cohorts and distancing between cabin groups as our main COVID mitigation plan. We have been stressing this plan all summer and specifically this week with our staff to be sure that they as well as our campers stay as distanced as possible from other cohort groups. Just short of 90% of our summer and full-time staff have been vaccinated.
The cabin leader who was not feeling well, his test result was negative.
