Trout retreats

District Blitz (April 27-29, 2012)

This discipleship retreat is offered by the Minnesota Iowa Baptist Conference and the Evangelical Free Church. It is designed for students in grades 6-12. This year the retreat takes place in April. Lodging is offered at local Rochester hotels. This is a high impact retreat that your students won’t want to miss.

District Blitz 2012 (details will be released later).

We are combining Blitz with the Evangelical Free Church and around 3,000 youth will be there. The venue has changed and this April, Rochester will be the place for your youth group. See you there.

Rallies

Cutting edge worship led by great worship bands, student-led prayer, challenging messages by powerful speakers are the highlights at each of the four rallies. The time at rallies is core to the District Blitz experience and your youth group will be energized by the other 3,000 people in attendance.

Seminars/ Workshops

We desire students to go deeper in the faith and knowledge of Jesus Christ, so we are offering nearly 20 different seminars and workshops that will encourage them to live out their faith in all areas of their life. Each student and leader is to attend two seminars/ workshops on Saturday from 11:30-12:30 and 6:00-7:00 P.M. A list of all the available seminars/ workshops will be available with the confirmation packets.

Breakout Sessions

Following each of the rallies, groups will have a time to meet together to discuss and interact with what they just heard. We have a limited number of rooms, so larger groups will be assigned spaces.

Afternoon Options

We will have several options for groups that will include recreation, rainy day movie, and others. We will update you on additional afternoon options with your conference confirmation packet.

Prayer Army/Team

About 45 minutes prior to each rally, we will have a time set aside for students and leaders that want to commit our rally time to the Lord. This time is spent in large group and small group prayer. We will also have students that will pray for our rallies on stage during each session. Please consider finding someone in your youth ministry that is willing to start a prayer team prior to the conference.

Meals

All groups will be responsible for their own meals while at the conference. Some hotels offer a continental breakfast and some of the hotels also have refrigerators in the guest rooms. There are several fast food locations, however many need transportation. There are grocery stores and many pizza places that are under 2 miles away.

Youth Leader Expectations

The focus of this weekend is ministering to students. We trust leaders will set the example by following conference rules and encouraging their students to do the same. The main leader in your youth group must attend a brief orientation meeting on Friday evening during the first rally. We will also have many of the rules and expectations printed in our conference handbook.
