Trout Lake Camps is experiencing tremendous change this summer. Below is a snapshot of new ministry initiatives and changes which will positively impact the way in which Trout participates in ministry.
Day Camps - For the first time ever, Trout is partnering with the local church to host Day Camps. Our goal is to come along side a church and strengthen their children’s outreach program by providing a great four-day VBS. Day Camp includes a closing outreach event for the community and our trained staff stay in the homes of church families.
Timber Ridge - a new and hip camp designed for 6th-8th grade students will open on June 15, 2008. Timber Ridge is a combination of crazy over-the-top experiences and structured time to build relationships with our summer staff. At the core of this new camp is our purpose...to challenge teens to follow Jesus and live a life pleasing to Him.
Project 365 - Our $1 per day campaign to raise money which is used to repair the “old” parts of camp is well underway. We have approximately 340 days of the 365 pledged. Two major projects are almost completed and the immediate impact of Project 365 will be noticed by guests.
Cabin Names at The Point - This year we have changed the names of cabins on The Point to better orientate first time guests at Trout. The lower cabins (Primary Camp) near the lake are now fish names which are in alphabetical order from the Soda Fountain to the Motel. Timber Ridge cabins (Young Teens Camp) are named in tree clusters to maintain the “tree theme” at Timber Ridge. The upper cabins (Juniors Camp) at The Point are now animal names.
In light of these changes, we look to Christ to guide, direct and unify us as we press forward through the changes. Would you pray with and for us? Pray that God would change the lives of thousands of campers who will be in our care this summer. Also, pray for safety and wisdom as we serve kids who come from diverse backgrounds. Thanks and see you this summer at Moses’ Red C Ranch!
On behalf of Christ and kids,
“The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.”
