On November 24, 2008 the Iowa Baptist Conference (IBC) Board of Overseers unanimously accepted the TASK FORCE counsel and advice that the IBC should seek to merge with the Minnesota Baptist Conference. This is another step forward in a potential ministry agreement with the IBC which includes Pine Lake Christian Camp.
Leadership within the MBC is beginning to evaluate the impact of a merger with the IBC. Specific details regarding votes, communication meetings and the process for state wide input will be made available when known. What is known is leadership from both sides desire to seek God in this opportunity and follow His will for their respective ministries in Minnesota and Iowa.
What does this mean for Trout Lake Camps? It means that sometime in the future there could be a new ministry opportunity in Iowa. Through the years Pine Lake Christian Camp has been used by God to change the lives of kids, teens and adults. Evaluation and discovery of a modified camping ministry vision could take place if both the MBC and IBC come together in ministry. These are exciting days for the MBC and Trout Lake Camps.
