More Ministry
A 280-seat, 10,060-square-foot, dining hall and scholarship project is the solution to Trout's little problem. It will bring more space, more campers and more ministry to Trout. It's time for more and Trout needs your support to make it happen.

Trout Lake Camps is building a new dining hall to increase capacity, boost efficiency and, well, do more. The new building will offer more space, allow more campers to attend and ultimately enable more ministry. But more can't happen without your support. The new dining hall will offer seating for everyone. No more eating in shifts. That means more time to each at more time to play. The old dining hall at Timber Ridge is 60 seats the new one is 280 seats. The new dining hall will be spacious with plenty of room to kick back and relax. Now coming in for lunch can be nearly as roomy as spending the day in the great outdoors. Now that's elbow room. A new dining hall at Timber Ridge will increase revenue, efficiency and capacity, meaning more of God's work happening at Trout Lake Camps for the future. More from rentals and more from retreats. When Trout Lake Camps isn't humming with summer campers, they're busy the rest of the year with retreats and rental groups. But the current dining hall at Timber Ridge severely limits capacity. With a new dining hall Trout will become a full-service retreat center and can more than double capacity. That means increased income from rental groups and more ministry at Trout. That's smart. |
More efficient delivery. Twice a week semi-trucks from Sysco and Appert's Foodservice are forced to deliver food to the wrong location because there's no delivery dock or storage space at the current Timber Ridge dining hall. Those shipments have to be broken down and shuttled by minivan to the various storage facilities. The new dining hall will include a standard delivery dock and eliminate the need for all this juggling of food. That's efficient. More for the future. The new dining hall is designed to be expandable. The entire first floor and a loft area above the kitchen are being left unfinished. This keeps the costs for the entire project down and means Trout Lake can grow into the building as needed. That's economical. More for less. For more than 60 years Trout Lake Camps has been built on the backs of volunteers. Hundreds of volunteers serve at Trout, picking up the slack and ensuring that this ministry continues. Dozens of volunteers have offered to help with the dining hall construction, and their efforts will help reduce costs and ensure that donated dollars go further. That's value. |
